Right from the start, I am really enjoying the chance to ride instead of drive into work a few days a week. My previous 2 bikes were stolen from private property, so it feels like a good cosmic reckoning that I was fortunate enough to win this prize, and I plan to help promote the goals of the contest to others (especially my kids), by word and by example.
I am in my early 30′s, married with two daughters, living in Waterloo, and working for RIM.
My other semi-regular athletic activities are: ice hockey, rollerblading, and running around after my children.
My other environmental causes are: driving a hybrid, turning off people’s cars when they walk away leaving them idling, using green bin and blue box to the fullest extent, boycotting products with unnecessary packaging, picking up litter, and supporting David Suzuki, who is a very, very wise man. I’ve been told the next best thing I could do for the environment is cut down on (or cut out) meat from my diet. I’ll be honest: this is not likely to happen any time soon.
You can also look at my other website. It was built by me using just plain html (and eventually some mild css), mainly as a family photos website to showcase my kids, but it is out of date – only sporadic updates for the last couple of years.
